Guitar Hero IV not just using guitars anymore

Seems the overwhelming success that is EA / Harmonix's Rock Band has caught Activision's eye like a child entranced by a firefly.

Gone are the days when you'll have an easy time determining which game is which, as the next "real" installment of Guitar Hero (not these one time, single band spin-off expansions) will be, according to Activision's Bobby Kotick, featuring "other" instruments.

"It's not just about guitars. We'll include a lot of other instruments, vocals. It will help us expand internationally. It's the first game we've had in which we can use local content and local bands."

That sounds an awful lot like Guitar Hero: Indie Rock Band to me. Perhaps it's just a coincidence. Anyone else? Let's keep fingers crossed that whatever they decide to do, in addition to their microphones, the new guitars and drum peripherals don't suffer as rocky of a launch as Rock Band's sadly did. Doh!...wait, did I just ruin the surprise, Activision?
