Just in case you missed our update in the original post, Konami has come out with an updated status on the Metal Gear Online beta.
The beta of Metal Gear Online now has a 'planned' start date of Friday, April 25th at 24:00 PDT. That gives you four days to get the game installed, go through a rigorous patch, and deal with the Konami servers to get your Konami ID set up. Wow.
On the plus side, the eyes of Konami have been replaced with dollar signs now.

Metal Gear Online (commonly abbreviated MGO) is a forthcoming online multiplayer spinoff of the Metal Gear series produced by Konami. The game was officially unveiled in Kojima Productions' 20th Anniversary Part of the Metal Gear series.
