Clinton was speaking in an interview on ABC's Good Morning America television program.
"In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them," Clinton said. "That's a terrible thing to say but those people who run Iran need to understand that because that perhaps will deter them from doing something that would be reckless, foolish and tragic."
"One of the things that we've seen over the last several years is a bunch of talk using words like 'obliterate,'" Barack Obama, said in a separate ABC interview. "It doesn't actually produce good results. And so I'm not interested in saber-rattling."
Last night, on MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Hillary Clinton said US allies in the Middle East are "intimidated and bullied into submission by Iran." Here also, she warned that an attack on Israel would bring "massive retaliation" for Iran.

you'd think that after
you'd think that after thousands of years of fighting, people would have figured it out that violence begets violence. ...and what will iran accomplish by going after israel? will that bring peace? will no one say "why are you killing people who are simply trying to live?" what will the u.s. accomplish by doing the same thing to iran? our governments are ruled by greedy, corrupt groups and inviduals. the people who say "i just want to live and watch my children grow and be as happy as i can be" get the ramifications. they get it, and grow up with revenge burning in the veins. so it goes. so why should i really care anymore? the greedy and corrupt governments will not change... the people who live under them will not change. for the most part, we all revolve and wars are fought, and people die. the dead do not have enemies... that's for the living to respond to with hatred for being left alive to grieve the dead. the only thing i can hope for is for death to find me quickly, when it comes. if a nuclear bomb hits, i hope it hits me directly. i doubt is china, or the s.u. or any other countries would just stay out of it if this scenario happens.
