Celebrate A Family Day At Denver Museum

The Denver Art Museum (DAM), the Denver Public Library (DPL), the Colorado History Museum (CHM) and the Byers-Evans House Museum (BEHM) will host Día de los Niños (Day of the Children), a multicultural celebration, on Sunday, April 27, 2008, from noon to 4 p.m. Featuring bilingual and family-friendly performances and activities, the event includes FREE general admission to all visitors of the four institutions.

Día de los Niños 2008 is presented by Qwest Communications and sponsored in part by the Consulate General of Mexico and the Mexican Cultural Center.

This year marks the fourteenth celebration of Día de los Niños in Denver and the seventh year for the celebration at the DAM. Families are invited to explore the museum and take advantage of a wide variety of bilingual family-friendly activities including singing, multicultural dance groups and art-making activities.

Visitors can enjoy performances by Opera Colorado, Flamenco dancers from the Maria Vasquez Group, traditional Northern and Southern Plain Indian dancers, a dance group from Thailand, the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and many more.

Inside the museum, families can explore the galleries and take part in activities, including Navajo weaving and Egyptian collar making. Children will receive a passport they can have stamped at each institution. Once their passport is completed, kids may register for great raffle prizes including piñatas. -- www.denverartmuseum.org
