Divorce Court: Juanita Bynum Tells Judge Lynn Toler It's Over

In a two-part episode of "Divorce Court" airing this Thursday and Friday, Juanita Bynum says to Judge Lynn Toler that her marriage is over.

Dr Juanita Bynum, a popular televangelist, married founder of Global Destiny churches Thomas W. Weeks III in a million-dollar, televised ceremony in 2002. Together they wrote, “Teach Me How to Love You: The Beginnings.”

Last month, Weeks pleaded guilty to an August 21 assault on Bynum in a hotel parking lot outside of Atlanta. He was sentenced to three years’ probation and ordered to undergo counseling for the attack in which Bynum said Weeks choked her, pushed her down and kicked and stomped her.

Bynum, who said she saw signs of trouble in her marriage well before the assault, filed for divorce in September.

"I was just trying to make it work because I don't like losing relationships," Bynum told "Divorce Court" Judge Lynn Toler, who hears cases on the syndicated show. "All of this just kept getting swept under the rug ... So you begin to adapt to a very wrong and very unhealthy marriage."

When asked on "Divorce Court" whether she and Weeks were planning a reconciliation, Dr. Juanita Bynum said she is "done."

"I can't speak for him, but I no longer want the marriage," Bynum announced.

Weeks' divorce attorney, Randy Kessler, said on Tuesday that the divorce of Dr. Juanita Bynum is moving forward. A mediation date is scheduled for May 13.
