There is nothing racist about our pledge in English! This is American not Mexico, Germany, France or any other country. We are Americans!!!!!!

Yes,it's disrepectful to not just the troops,but to
every american citizen!This is the United States and the pledge of alligiance should be in English.

There are thousands of Chinese and Japanese and Slavic and other languages that are spoken by people in this country but I've never heard the Pledge said in those languages. What all of the sudden do our children have to say the Pledge in Spanish. It's clear...the illegal immigrants speak mostly only Spanish and their supporters have an agenda of taking over the part of the U.S. that they claim is Mexican land. American is a melting pot with English as it's primary language. If millions of legal immigrants adjusted and learned English, then make it that way for anyone who enters our borders. Stop brainwashing our children into thinking Socialism is the way of our country.

For those of you who claim Americans who are against illegal immigrations are racists, you have no idea what it is to be a true American and support the country that our forefathers invisioned. It wasn't what we have now.

One thing you can count on, the "hispanic" members of the US armed forces took their oaths in english, not spanish. If they say the pledge, you can count of it being said in english, just as all other business in the military is.

1. The Constitution of the United States is written in English.

2. Pledging allegiance to a flag, particularly a flag you are not born under, lol, is a serious matter, if you are to take the PLEDGE seriously.

3. Understanding what the Constitution, its related documents, and the Pledge in particular, in English, is essential to the understanding of the WORDS, their CONTEXT, and the MINDSET of our Founding Fathers.

Learning the Pledge in spanish for class is one thing. To recite at a serious moment when UNITY IS THE THEME, one universal language should be used. Since english is the language of our constitution, and consequently the Pledge was written in english, so should it be recited.

Surely, the teacher/admins/etc knew this would incite an incident........

I personally feel that it is inappropriate for the Pledge of Allegiance to be recited in ANY language other than English, and the same is true for our National Anthem being sung in ANY language other than English. Yes, I feel that it is an insult to both our troops and our Nation to have the Pledge of Allegiance recited in ANY language other than English. I would also be having fits if my child attended this school and had to listen to this over a loudspeaker.

Mr. Fjelstad, these parents are speaking for themselves and how they personally feel about our Pledge being recited in another language. What gives you the right to speak for '110,000' plus soldiers, either living or deceased? Do you think they recite the Pledge of Allegiance in any language other than English while serving in our military? How do you think this makes immigrants who come here legally, are required to learn English and take pride in this effort, and then swear an oath of allegiance to our nation feel? You should be ashamed of yourself sir!

Before you accuse me of being a bigot, I am the granddaughter of European immigrants on one side of my family, and on the other side I am a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Some of my ancestors were Tejanos who fought in the Texas War of Independence, and I for one feel that you are belittling what they fought and died for.

Oh,how shocking!! I'm just an American citizen who inherited this nation from my ancestors who sweated and fought wars and built it up for me, and well, I can't do anything about foreign nationals illegally here. I'm too dense, cowardly, or stupid. What do you expect of me. Oh, well, I guess it's a good thing to learn Spanish. I'll do whatever I havae to do, just leave me alone. SOUND ABOUT RIGHT??

The Pledge is a national symbol and was written in English, to be recited in English. Spanish is NOT a race. Only the socialist and communist traitors, in this country, use the race card for everything. Since the Superintendant thinks the same thing, he should be fired. We have enough socialist traitors running U.S. education, and our education levels and quality of life have reduced drastically because of it.

WHAT PEOPLE HAVE FORGOTTEN IS THAT A PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE IS A SACRED PLEDGE TO ONE'S COUNTRY. IT IS A VOW THAT WE OWE OUR LOVE AND OUR LIFE TO ONE'S NATION. IT IS NOT A SPELLING BEE, NOR IS IT A TEACHING TOOL. IT IS SACRED AND SHOULD BE RESPECTED AND SAID ONLY IN THE LANGUAGE OF THAT COUNTRY. IF THEY WANT TO TEACH A LANGUAGE, FINE BUT DON'T MESS WITH OUR PLEDGE!

This is EXACLTY why English needs to become the OFFICIAL language of the US! The irony -- the PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE US AND THE FLAG and for what it stands for is spoken in Spanish?!? It's repulsive! The liberal loons are going to ruin this country! People, wake up unless you want Spanish to be the official language. The Hispanics have a mission -- "The Reconquista" -- to reconquer what they believe is THEIRS -- the US! They've said they'll do it without firing a single shot (meaning they'll do it by reproducing and apparently it's working -- look around.) Get mad, get active or don't complain!

The Spanish speakers that were in my company, including my 1st Sgt, were from Purto Rico, held United States Citizenship and spoke ENGLISH. I can not recall a pledge or any functions in spanish. Sorry that this does not support Fjelstad's Elitist Agenda.

What is racist about this? Whenever those who pander to illegal immigration can't think of a logical response to the illegal immigration problem, they just yell "racist" out of frustration. They have nothing else to offer in the debate. I say enough is enough. It isn't racist to demand that Americans speak our official language in a government school.

How do you know the 110,000 would agree with you? Maybe they would respond as Americans and not by race.

THIS IS AMERICA! America's history, books, newspapers and speech are in ENGLISH. Our founding fathers debated, took notes & finally penned the Constitution in ENGLISH. The Bill of Rights and ALL OUR LAWS are in ENGLISH. To Be A LEGAL Citizen, the test is IN ENGLISH! THAT IN ITSELF DICTATES ENGLISH IS THE LANGUAGE OF AMERICA! ENGLISH NOT SPANISH!

LEGAL immigrants of the past came to AMERICA to be AMERICANS! Now it's more politically correct to insert your race, country of origin or religion BEFORE being an American. Such labeling SHOULD NOT be ACCEPTABLE TO AMERICANS OR TO ANYONE TRULY WANTING TO BE AN American.

NO OTHER group of "LEGAL" immigrants came to America and demanded America's laws and government documents be rewritten in their homeland languages. No other group of "LEGAL" immigrants, DID WHAT "ILLEGAL/CRIMINAL IMMIGRANTS" DID WHEN THEY raised their HOMELAND FLAGS in such numbers during immigration protests DEMANDING AMERICA GIVE THEM CITIZENSHIP AFTER BREAKING AMERICA'S LAWS & OUTRAGING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. No other group of legal immigrants came to America and tried using her Constitution to change America's language, her laws and way of life to mimic their homeland. THAT HAS ALL CHANGED.

One of the most obscene and disturbing aspects of the present attack on the American way of life is MOST of these immigrants have ignored and broken America's immigration laws. Our public officials have adopted a “pick and choose the laws they want to be enforced” and “ignore the laws they don't like” against CRIMINAL IMMIGRANTS. Why isn't optional law enforcement available to "legal immigrants" or "American born citizens"? Where is the equality?
