A widely-used heart drug Digitek Digoin has been recalled, according to the makers of Digitek.

Pharmaceutical company Actavis Totowa announced the recall of Digitek, also known as Digoxin, saying there was a possibility that tablets with double the approved level of active ingredient may have been sold.

Digitek (digoxin) is a synthetic form of digitalis. Taken in double strength, the medicine could cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness, low blood pressure as well as heart problems.

Customers seeking information can call Actavis at 1-888-276-6166. Additional information on the voluntary recall can be found on the company website at http://www.actavis.us.

Reports of bad reactions should go to the Food and Drug Administration's MedWatch program online at http://www.fda.gov/medwatch/report .
