A total of 53 teenage girls were removed from Yearning For Zion Ranch in Eldorado. 31 of those in the massive child removal have either had a baby or are now pregnant. Two of the girls that are now pregnant may also have had children in the past.
"It shows you a pretty distinct pattern, that it was pretty pervasive," Child Protective Services spokesman Darrell Azar said.
463 children were removed from the ranch early in April. The members of the ranch are part of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The polygamist group believes that teen girls are old enough for ’spiritual’ marriages regardless of what the law dictates. In Texas children under the age of seventeen cannot have sex with an adult. A girl is allowed to get married at the age of 16 with parental permission. None of the girls at the ranch at believed to be in a marriage that is legal under the provisions of Texan law.
Members of the church deny that their children have been abused and that the state is enforcing a form of religious persecution.
Civil-liberties groups and lawyers for the children both have questioned the state about the removal of children who are not alleged to have faced abuses.
There are 250 girls and 213 boys that are being retained in custody by the state. The children are all being placed in some kind of foster care while the case moves forward.

#1 YFZ Sect underaged mothers
As I didn't see a date on this article, I am going to assume that this is a case of relying on just what the mainstream media has been reporting. The truth of the matter was just revealed publically today.
53 *alleged* teenage girls were removed from the ranch. Of those, 31 were pregnant or were already mothers. As it turns out, 27 of those 31 were over the age of 18. So, in reality... that is 4 underaged moms out of 53 young-ish women. Tell me, in your part of the country is that really so unusual? It isn't here in Las Vegas.
