Columbia Orchestra Presents "A Young People's Concert"

The Columbia Orchestra will present "A Young People's Concert" featuring Sergei Prokofiev's beloved Peter and the Wolf and Aaron Copland's Hoe-Down on Saturday, January 13, 2007, at 12:30 and 3:00 P.M. Following several years of sellouts, the Columbia Orchestra has moved this year's program to a larger venue, the Jim Rouse Theatre at Wilde Lake High School, 5460 Trumpet Road, in Columbia.

The Young People's Concerts are sponsored in part by a generous grant from Target.

A "Musical Instrument Petting Zoo" sponsored by Music & Art Centers will be open from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M., offering children of all ages-from preschoolers to parents and grandparents-an opportunity to see, hear, touch, and play orchestral instruments.

Admission is FREE for children 11 and under, while those 12 and up are only $12. For advance tickets or reservations, call (410) 465-8777 or visit the Music & Arts Center at the Chatham Station Shopping Center, the Music & Arts Center in Laurel, or the Columbia Association on Wincopin Circle. Tickets may also be purchased at the door, although credit cards cannot be processed the day of the concert. -- www.columbiaorchestra.org
