Rory McLeod is a unique musician and modern day travelling troubadour. He stops off for a performance in The Gallery Sessions at the Queen’s Theatre, Barnstaple on Wednesday 7th May.

Also an ex circus clown and fire breather, the one man band that is Rory McLeod uses a bizarre mix of instruments in his solo orchestra. The spoons, finger cymbals, Djembe drum, harmonica, guitar, trombone and tap dancing shoes all accompany his rich voice as he performs his poems and songs with humour and warmth.

Last seen at the Queen’s starring in folk opera Freeborn John, Rory has enjoyed a strong career seeing him release eight albums and write music for ITV’s Creature Comforts, and a BBC documentary on the history of East London’s Spitalfields Market.

His music is influenced by flamenco, blues, Celtic, East European and calypso rhythms creating a style of music all his own while his lyrics take you on a journey through his experiences of travelling the world. Never still or silent, Rory radiates energy for a dynamic and infectious performance. -- www.northdevontheatres.org.uk
