What To Get Mom This Sunday? Exclude Debt

I don't know who the clueless people are who write these lists. Mother's Day is not about getting expensive gifts. The whole holiday, along with Valentine's Day, has turned into an excuse to get into more debt for millions of American families without knowing how to mange it, instead of enjoying the beauty of the holiday.

If you really want to show the mother of your children this Sunday how much you love and appreciate her, make sure you each have adequate life insurance so if something happens, she can stay in your home.

Start paying off your debts so she can sleep better at night and start saving for retirement so when the two of you are in the sunset years of your lives you can take cruises with the grandkids. Really-your wife doesn't need another cheap pair of $299 diamond earrings.

She would probably be happier with the credit cards paid off. Talk to her about it before you go out and charge up even more debt. Don't give in to the advertisers' pressure to keep up with your neighbors. Just a thought.

  • Building a House

Builders picked up the building pace in April as the industry streaked past analyst estimates for new housing starts. Led mainly by the development of multi-family projects builders showed that they exist to do one thing - build. It's a good news as the housing starts rise unexpectedly. Could this be the bottom of the real estate crisis in the United State?
