Bad Girl Goes Good At Grand Theatre

Posted May 17th, 2008 by ruzik_tuzik

This year's fabulous family panto Cinderella will star TV's favourite prison inmate Amanda Barrie (Bev Tull in Bad Girls, Coronation St, Hell's Kitchen) as the Fairy Godmother and the hilarious Steve Royle (BBC Radio Lancashire) as Buttons at Blackpool's Grand Theatre from Friday 5th December. More star names to be announced…

In a far away kingdom Cinderella's father has remarried and she now has two new wicked step-sisters who soon turn her into their slave! Meanwhile, across town in the castle, Prince Charming is searching for a wife and invites every eligible maiden in the kingdom to a fancy dress ball, where he will be able to choose his bride. Add to the story a Fairy Godmother, a pumpkin carriage, the stroke of midnight, a glass slipper, and the rest, as they say, is fairytale history.

This year's traditional pantomime for all the family at the Grand will be full of music and dance, fun and laughter with fabulous costumes, lavish sets and the sensational Shetland ponies!

Cinderella is brought to you by Martin Dodd and Peter Frosdick for UK Productions - the company which has presented some of the most critically acclaimed touring musicals in recent years, such as Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Anything Goes, Carousel, 42nd Street, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers and of course the current UK tour of Fiddler On The Roof starring Joe McGann which appeared at the Grand to great acclaim earlier this year.

UK Productions has produced pantomimes at Blackpool's Grand Theatre for the past twelve years.

Tickets for Cinderella at the Grand Theatre, Blackpool from Friday 5th December 2008 to Saturday 4th January 2009 are available from only $11. Family tickets, concession and Friends of the Grand discounts also available. -- www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk
