Art After 5: Sounds of Africa
Zimbabwe Nkenya
Friday, May 23, 7 pm, at Grigg Gallery, Free

The Saint Louis Art Museum helps kick off Memorial Day Weekend and the annual St. Louis African Arts Festival with a free concert featuring the mbira, an instrument played by the Shona people of Zimbabwe for thousands of years. This performance by accomplished musician Zimbabwe Nkenya pays homage to the complex rhythms and hypnotic songs performed by the musicians of West Africa. Drinks and light fare will be available for purchase from Puck's Restaurant.

Join us for guided, family-friendly tours of the African art galleries.

Family Art Activities and Performances
Sunday, May 25, 1–4 pm, at Sculpture Hall, Free

Help us celebrate Forest Park's African Arts Festival with the dancers and musicians of Fundisha Enterprises. After you're finished dancing, join us to make a sculpture inspired by an African myth.
