The English National Ballet visit the Queen's Theatre, Barnstaple to help get the North Devon Festival under way with Angelina's Star Performance on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st May.

Based on the hugely popular children's books and animated series by Katharine Holabird, Angelina Ballerina is a headstrong and determined young mouse who dreams of becoming a prima ballerina. Often landing herself in trouble she always bounces back with a giggle and a smile, just like a real little girl.

This enchanting live action stage performance sees Angelina visiting Queen Seraphina's splendid palace to dance The Sleeping Beauty for her. Aided by her best friend Alice, teacher Mrs Lilly, and Princess Valentine, Angelina pirouettes across the stage in the hope of pleasing the Queen. It's Angelina's biggest challenge yet; will she manage to pull it off?

With picture book sets, dazzling costumes, and a score by Tchaikovsky, this is a fantastic introduction to ballet for all children. Prima ballerina Darcey Bussell describes Angelina as, "a magical character who fulfils every little girl's dream". -- www.northdevontheatres.org.uk
