As I have mentioned in a previous post about Guitar Hero IV, this one is a branch out from just guitar playing. In an attempt to compete with Rock Band, Activision decided to go the same route with Guitar Hero World Tour.
This next installment will include the ability to play in a band, with guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. Some unique functions may prove to be deal makers. The feature that I think will sway Rock Band fans is the music creation mode, where you can create your own songs with each instrument.
Also, the game sports high amounts of customization, from each accessory your character wears, to what designs your guitar pick guard has. The release date for the game is October 27th of this year, and it will be available on the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, and Wii.
Prices are stated as $189.99 for the "Band Kit" which includes a guitar, drum set and microphone, $99.99 for the "Guitar Kit" which includes the game and guitar, and $59.99 for the game itself, which will presumably be compatible with Guitar Hero III and Rock Band guitars.

"We've already had a few glimpses of the drum kit for the now-official Guitar Hero: World Tour, but if you want a better look at the device that'll be cluttering up your apartment this fall, you may want to hit up this promotional video showing the kit being played by some actual drummers," reports Gamezplay.
