The opening of the sixth Cultural Summer Program at the Jewish Museum Berlin addresses this aspect of cultural history with an exhilarating evening concert: On Sunday 1 June, "Andrej Hermlin and his Swing Dance Orchestra" will play compositions by Gershwin and Tsfasman and original arrangements by orchestras of the 1930s and 1940s, among them unforgettable melodies such as "Lady Be Good," "Teplochod" and "Over the Rainbow."
Andrej Hermlin, Germany's "King of Swing," will host the evening himself, throwing in the odd anecdote here and there to spice things up! Founded in 1987, his "Swing Dance Orchestra" has been inspired by the legendary American Swing Orchestra in sound, arrangements, instruments, and costume. We warmly invite you to attend this live concert featuring 29 musicians in the Glass Courtyard at the Jewish Museum Berlin. -- www.juedisches-museum-berlin.de
