Armenia and Iran Strengthen Banking Cooperation

Earlier we had reported that Armenia makes serious steps in becoming a financial center by attracting investments in its banking sector aiming to become a financial mediator between the Middle East and Europe. Now Armenia makes another step by strengthening it's tiles with the central bank of Iran attracting more Iranian financial capital to Armenia's banking center.

Armenian Minister of Finance Tigran Davtian met Iran’s Central Bank Vice Governor for Foreign Exchange Affairs Reza Raei on Tuesday.

In the meeting, Davtian emphasized on stronger bilateral economic ties between Yerevan and Tehran and clarified the investment opportunities in his country, ISNA reported.

Meanwhile, Raei referred to the economic developments in Armenia and underlined the expansion of banking relations between the two countries.

According to the Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan Arab states express a wish to move their financial center from Lebanon to Armenia, proposing to carry out the corresponding legislative changes in the republic.
