Grey Island Systems (TSX.V: GIS), a leading provider of automated vehicle location and predictive arrival systems for government clients, wholly owned subsidiary InterFleet Inc., is pleased to announce that the company has signed initial hardware contracts for GPS equipment for a total of US$1.1M.
The order follows on a US$1.3M contract announced October 30, 2007 for an in-house implementation of the InterFleet software for a major US city and is in cooperation with a global system integrator.
The deliverables includes a full in-house implementation of the InterFleet system with high-precision GPS equipment operating in dual-mode over commercial wireless and city-owned proprietary wireless networks. The system includes automatic fail-over of wireless networks ensuring unparallel up-time and least cost routing providing very robust and economical wireless connectivity for the municipal work force.
"The total value of the hardware and software contracts is in excess of US$2.4M and represents a fraction of the total potential that may yield from this particular project" states Owen Moore, President Grey Island "this opportunity, combined with a number of recent contract awards and modifications further emphasize the companies leadership position in government based GPS equipment and software services". -- www.cnxmarketlink.com
