The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 went down by 0,14% to reach 2581,41 points (2585,06 points as of May 16th, 2008). Last week RTS Indices Metals & Mining, Oil & Gas and Industrial showed a negative trend. RTS Index – Metals & Mining decreased by 3,52%, RTS Index – Industrial by 2,66% and RTS Index Oil & Gas – by 2,54%. In Consumer & Retail, Electric Utilities and Financials sectors the Indices kept on rising. The most significant growth was registered in RTS – Index Consumer & Retail – it grew by 2,72%.
For the week of May 19 – 23, 2008 the total trading volume on RTS equaled 6,9 bln. dollars (164,3 bln. rubles*), including all types of trades.
The top sellers of the week were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) – $58,4 mln, Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) - $44,1 mln, ОАО "LUKOIL" ordinary shares (LKOH) - $39,9 mln.
share of each security in the trading volume made up 16,18%, 12,20% and 11,04% accordingly.
The top gainers of the week were PJSC "Krasny Kotelshchik" (KRKO) ordinary shares that went up by 30,60% and reached $1,75, Moscow City Electricity Distribution Company (MGRS) ordinary shares that gained 18,75% and reached $0,0665 and Moscow Integrated Electricity Distribution Company (MSRS) that were up by 17,33% and reached $0,088.
The top losers of the week were privileged shares of OJSC "Volga TGC" (TGKG), that fell in price by 15,20% and reached $0,0865, "Nizhnekamskshina" Corp ordinary shares (NKSH) – 14,29% and reached $2,4 and OJSC "MMK" (MAGN) – 11,97% and reached $1,25. -- www.rts.ru
