Award-Winning Producer, Andrew Goldberg, In-Studio at KOCE to Showcase Premiere of Films –
“The Jewish People: A Story of Survival” and “Anti-Semitism in the 21st Century: The Resurgence”
In celebration of Jewish-American heritage, Orange County’s PBS station, KOCE-TV, will premiere two critically-acclaimed documentaries by award-winning producer Andrew Goldberg back-to-back this Wednesday, June 4. Goldberg has provided the films exclusively to KOCE-TV, and will appear on the station to share commentary accompanying the debut of his films, “The Jewish People: A Story of Survival” at 8 p.m., and “Anti-Semitism in the 21st Century: The Resurgence” at 9:30 p.m.
“The Jewish People: A Story of Survival” – 8 p.m.
At 8 p.m., tune in for “The Jewish People: A Story of Survival.” Hosted by Martha Teichner, senior correspondent for “CBS News/Sunday Morning,” this one-hour original production is the first Jewish film organized around the central themes of survival and the achievement of a people. Moving chronologically, the film offers a sweeping overview of four millennia and the numerous civilizations – the Babylonians, the Romans, the Muslims, the Spanish, the Soviets and others – that have ruled over the Jewish people.
Illustrated through historical photographs, documents and interviews with notable luminaries about the Jewish culture, including: Nobel Peace Prize Laureate/Writer Elie Wiesel; Author Fran Lebowitz; Professor Alan Dershowitz, Harvard University; Professor Lawrence H. “Anti-Semitism in the 21st Century: The Resurgence” – 9:30 p.m. More than 60 years after the Holocaust, many parts of the world are experiencing a dramatic resurgence of anti-Semitism. Reports from Western watch groups indicate a drastic increase in anti-Semitic incidents since the year 2000. Meanwhile, in a growing number of Arab and Islamic communities, there is an alarming rise in anti-Semitic rhetoric in political and public arenas, and especially in mainstream media. In the context of its historical, religious and political underpinnings, “Anti-Semitism in the 21st Century: The Resurgence” examines how and why anti-Semitism continues to flourish today. Andrew Goldberg, Producer/Director Award-winning Producer/Director Andrew Goldberg is the founder and owner of Two Cats Productions in New York City.
