23-year-old violinist Lee Shi Mei won the second prize at the 2007 National Piano & Violin Competition (Artist Category). Currently a final year undergraduate student at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, she was concertmaster of the Oberlin Chamber Orchestra in 2007 and is a member of the award-winning Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble.
Pianist Albert Lin, 30, started his formal musical training on the piano at the age of three. Under the tutelage of Ong Lip Tat, he was awarded the 3rd prize in the Piano (Open) category of the 1995 National Music Competition. Later that year, at the age of 16, he was accepted into the Peabody Conservatory of Music where he was the youngest student in his class.
Wang Ya-Hui is currently Music Director of the Conservatory Orchestra and Associate Professor at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. Past appointments include Assistant Conductor of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Music Director of the Evergreen Symphony (Taiwan), Akron Symphony Orchestra (Ohio), Fort Smith Symphony (Arkansas), the Omaha Nebraska Youth Orchestras and Principal Conductor of the Chicago Encore Chamber Orchestra. -- www.sso.org.sg
