Build-A-Bear Toys. They are cute. They are cuddly. And now they are drug smuggling.
MSNBC reports that authorities on Friday seized 33 pounds of heroin found stuffed inside Build-A-Bear toys in connection with a drug bust in the Bronx that resulted in the arrest of a dozen people.
The Build-A-Bear drug bust was carried out by the the New York office of the Drug Enforcement Administration along with city and state police
broke up a drug distribution ring that sold hundreds of thousands of small bags of drugs a week in New York and New Jersey.
The small bags of heroin were stamped with brand names with such brand names as Barack Obama, Swine Flu and Crime 360 before being stuffed inside the Build-A-Bear toys.
In addition to the heroin stuffed Build-A-Bear toys, authorities also managed to seize $150,000 in cash as part of the drug bust.
