Paula Abdul Tweets She is Leaving American Idol

TMZ reports that Paula Abdul tweeted her farewell to American Idol with the following tweet just moments ago:

"With sadness in my heart, I've decided not to return to Idol. I'll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day 1 become an international phenomenon."

It is no secret that Paula Abdul wasn't too pleased when Ryan Seacrest recently inked a new 3 year $45 million deal to continue hosting Americal Idol.

It has been reported that Paula Abdul believes that she deserves to earn a substantial increase from the estimated 2 to 3 million a year she currently earns. Sources indicate that the American Idol judge has been trying to negotiate a raise but the deadline was supposedly this week as rehearsals are about to begin for the next season.

It is hard to say if Paula Abdul is really serious about leaving American Idol or if this is just a negotiating ploy. Whether it is or not, this may be the first time anyone has tweeted their resignation.
