A contestant on a Pakistan reality TV show drowned while performing a challenge during filming of the show. Saad Khan drowned on August 19 while filming was underway for the the Pakistan reality TV show's 10th episode. Contestant Khan's drowning was not made public until after his body was returned home to southern Pakistan in the city of Karachi.

According to Fareshte Aslam, information officer for Unilever Pakistan, the show's sponsor, Khan drowned while the Pakistan reality TV show was filming a challenge in the Thai capital of Bankok.

At the time he drowned, Khan was swimming across a lake while wearing a 15 pound backpack as part of the challenge. At some point, contestant Khan called out for help then disappeared under the water.

Crew members and co-contestants from the Pakistan reality TV show rushed into the water to try to save Khan but couldn't find him in the murky waters of the lake.

Contestant Khan's body was later discovered by divers.

Thai police are now investigating whether Khan's drowning was purely an accident or caused by negligence on the part of the Pakistan reality TV show.

Unilever Pakistan, the sponsor of the Pakistan reality TV show, was not involved with the production of the show and further denies any liability in contestant Khan's drowning. Nonetheless, the Pakistan reality TV show sponsor is considering providing for Khan's wife and four children "out of rightness" given his death on the show.
