The legal battle between former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean and pageant organizers has official been settled. Under the terms of the settlement, Carrie Prejean will walk away with nothing from the Miss California USA Pageant.

The foundation for the legal battles between Carrie Prejean and Miss California USA pageant organizer all seemed to start after Prejean publicly made some controversial remarks against gay marriage. Shortly after that, pageant organizers fired Prejean from her title as Miss California USA in June for missing mandatory events, a claim that Carrie Prejean adamantly denied.

In August, Carrie Prejean filed a lawsuit against Miss California USA pageant organizers for libel, slander and religious discrimination alleging that pageant organizers told her to stop mentioning God, even before she made her anti-gay marriage remarks. In her lawsuit, Prejean also claimed that pageant organizers improperly disclosed that they paid for her breast implants.

Last month, Miss California USA Pageant organizers filed a countersuit.

In a joint statement issued yesterday, Carrie Prejean and Miss California USA pageant organizers said they have reached a settlement of all legal issues between the two parties and that they "wish each other the best in their future endeavors."

Under the terms of the settlement, Carrie Prejean will get nothing in the way of money. The Miss California USA pageant will cut a check in the amount of $100,000 directly to her lawyers and publicists. The only thing that Carrie Prejean will walk away with is a promise that Miss California USA pageant organizers will not fight her for writing a book without their permission. Carrie Prejean's book is due to be released on Monday.
