Mike Tyson Arrested for Punching Paparazzi at LAX

Mike Tyson was arrested at LAX Airport earlier today for allegedly punching a paparazzo in the face. However, former heavyweight boxing champion was not the only one hauled off to jail as a result of the the bloody Mike Tyson LAX incident as the photographer was also placed under arrest.

According to reports, the Mike Tyson LAX incident took place at United Airlines Terminal 7 while Mike Tyson was standing at a ticket counter. Apparently, the paparazzi photographer got really close to Tyson, who was traveling with his 10-month-old daughter at the time. Tyson then punched the photographer in the face, knocking him to the ground.

The paparazzo got up and walked away leaving a trail of blood behind him. While reports indicate the the scene was quite bloody, LAPD officers indicate that the photographer suffered a minor laceration to the forehead. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Apparently, the paparazzo told the police that the Mike Tyson LAX incident started when Tyson punched him in the face and tried to take the film out of his camera.

Mike Tyson's rep says that the former heavyweight boxing champion was attacked by an overly aggressive paparazzi and was acting in defense of his 10-month-old daughter with whom he was traveling.

The Mike Tyson LAX incident ended with both men being arrested on mutual citizens arrests complaints for misdemeanor battery. However, Mike Tyson may face more serious charges if his hands are deemed to be deadly weapons given the fact that he is the former reigning heavyweight boxing champion.

The Mike Tyson LAX incident is just the latest in a long history of run-ins with the law with the most serious being his February 10, 1992 rape conviction in Indianapolis. This is another unfortunate setback for Mike Tyson who seemed to be on a positive uptick with his recent cameo appearance in the hit comedy "The Hangover."
