An employee made a bogus bomb threat about an American Airlines plane in an effort to delay the flight for her boss. The woman felt bad about making her boss late for his flight and thought calling in the bomb threat would buy enough time for him to make it.
On Wednesday, officials at Miami International Airport received a call and an email indicating there was a bomb on the American Airlines flight destined for Honduras. As a result, the flight was delayed and the plane searched for bombs. Of course, none were found.
Investigators were able to track the false bomb threat email back to the South Florida woman's computer. Under questioning, the woman told investigators that she felt bad that she made her boss late for his flight and thought making the false bomb threat would delay the flight long enough for her boss to make it on the plane.
On Thursday, the woman was charged with making a false report of planting a bomb. The dedicated employee is being held in lieu of $7,500 bail. Maybe her boss will recognize her dedication and post her bail for her.
