TD Banknorth announced today the launch of its new Summer Reading Program, which rewards kids for sharpening their reading skills during summer vacation.

Through September 30, TD Banknorth will deposit $10 into the new or existing Regular Savings Account of children who read 10 books over the summer.

"With the Summer Reading Program, our goal is to motivate young people to keep reading after classes end, and help them learn valuable lessons about saving for the future," said Suzanne Poole, Executive Vice President of Retail Distribution for TD Banknorth. "Studies show that summer reading is critical in helping children maintain their academic performance during the school year. We're proud to launch a program that will make summer reading even more rewarding."

It's easy to participate in the Summer Reading Program. Parents can help their kids start earning their $10 by visiting their local TD Banknorth branch to obtain a reading brochure. Write the title and author of the 10 books the child has read over the summer, then redeem the completed brochure at the branch by September 30, 2008. -- TD Banknorth
