As expected, Saturday at the 2008 WorldWide Invitational (WWI), Blizzard announced a sequel to another of its huge franchises: Diablo III. Blizzard had been teasing Diablo 3 gamers with screenshots at its website.
Kotaku reports that "The demon that is Diablo III. In a fight to the finish, Tenacious D will send the devil back to hell by playing their guitars with a piece of Diablo's tooth."

In May Blizzard acquired the domain name Diablo3.com, which sparked speculation about a possible upcoming Diablo III release. In my mind this would be bigger than Starcraft 2, mostly because I love Diablo more than Starcraft (heresy, I know).
With Blizzard's 2008 WorldWide Invitational (WWI) to be held this week, and with Blizzard teasing splash screens on their website (unless you've been asleep - or don't care - you know about them; click the above to enlarge) rampant speculation has arisen again. DiabloII.net has been tracking all the "clues" at the Blizzard site, including the splash screens and more. And on Wednesday they said they had some inside info about the game:
With this week's speculation over the Blizzard teasers, more and more reports in the media, and numerous tips coming direct us at IncGamers from reliable inside industry sources in the past 24 hours, we now have confirmation from inside sources to say that Diablo 3 WILL be announced on Saturday at WWI Paris 2008.
Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean we will be meeting Baal again anytime soon. Based on how long Starcraft 2 has been in development since it was announced. And in fact, based on the retailers who have posted dates for Starcraft 2, it might be the release date of that game that's being teased at Blizzard's site.
Or maybe we'll get lucky and it will be both. We'll find out Saturday.

i truly hope that they charge for the game. that will keep game from being hacked all to hell. like the diablo and diablo 2. this i believe will keep game play fair for the people that truly injoy the game.

That's why in Diablo 2 there was "Open" and "Closed" servers. One for hacking, one for legit. Unless they have anti hacking software, there's going to be hacks.

OMG, I didn't even know that there is going to be a third chapter of Diablo since today! I watched the gameplay video on the website and it looks great!!! I loved Diablo too so I'm anxious to know when it's going to be released. Please keep us updated! ;)

just wish i could get an date on when this game comes ou and why are thair only two class so far the game looks better the graphics looks nice but every game has good graphics now but if the gameplay is the smame it should be a good game with plus new class new items new skills and maybe make away that players can be strong with out fighting like making wepons or something eles like yu can do in wow

Diablo 3 will not be MMORPG like World of Warcraft, at least I think so because in gameplay movies there were no sign of marks such of a MMORPG game /many chat channels/. So HACK N SLASH is comming back!

diablo 3, can be classified as RPG and MMORPG as well, cuz' you can play in single player mode, multy player mode or even BattleNet mode, wich anyone who has the original version of the game can play with people all around the world.
i've been expected this game too long, now i want it right in time.
barbarian's look very very cool as always, witch doctor is just an another name for the "necromancer" i guess, one of my favourit class, i hope that blizzrd keep the paladin, the best class so far.
now i just want to know WHEN DIABLO 3 WILL BE RELEASED?

I just want to know the release date of diablo 3 and i hope it isnt to long like some people have said it wont come out till semtember 30 2009 but i dont think thats true because they wouldnt announce a game then not come out with it for another year so if you hear anyone say somthing like that i just wouldnt believe them

They can take another year on it if they feel like it, look at SSBB, they dragged that out over a year past the initial release date. That would be very unfortunate if they did but i don't think Blizzard is that stupid. Also, they better not have monthly fees, and if so at least have a free version and a pay version. Players not Payers for life!
PS. I'm not too crazy about the WOW type graphics either but we can live with it so everyone stop bitchin'.

well ive been playing world of warcraft for about over 2 years now and i gota say that im probably gona quit wow to play diablo 3 mainly because it gives me a chance to be one of the top players since it is new. unlike WoW its hard to be in the top anything anymore.

I played to the top of 8 patches in D2, its time to unveil the secrets, and reminice about some history. (any one remember cows for exp) Does ne one know that countess runs with 700 mf every unique ring is soj. How bout when ik arm was the most valuble piece in the game. With quick tele you could glitch meph for free kill. I killed him in hell at lvl 10 back in 1.3 b4 the restrictions. All the way to 1.11 they never patched this. Mrs Muffins was my 1st assassin (1.03) she quickly matured into a town killer. After iths came out the assassin was rendered kind of illegitmate. I made an ice sorc a fave for 1.07 and .08 pwned buying duped wf from 1.07 for 20 duped sojs and selling the wf for 40 sojs. Id say i flipped 3 a day. (All the credit here goes to Andy taught me the dupe trade. Of course along comes 1.09 and rushing was the name of the game. I made a light sorc in 1.11
she rushed hell in same time as normal. Once in a favor to friend made it thru hell in 4:30 without the forge. Lvl 97 pure light mana shield and frost armor.

Well, the environment enchancements really touched my gamer's heart... And WoW was really dissapointing in comparision with other Blizzard masterpieces... But this exceeds my expectations o.o I actually watched the gameplay video... Would you ever dreamed of seeing a giant boss (something like Duriel, Diablo, Baal...) ramming a freaking building with a fierce charge?! Once I get the chance, I will roam through Diablo 3...

what is wrong with you ppl! You keep asking when the release date is! It will come out when it is ready to come out and frankly I'm happy to wait because it is such a huge game with sooooo many diverse options that it will take a while to perfect but when it is perfected it will be an insane game! And that is why the other diablos were so great bcause they took their time with the games and made it great! Woo Aussies ftw even though we ain't doing so well in the olympics
