The students witnessed a Chevrolet Matiz lifestyle and interior shoot in Mostoles, outside of Madrid, in a very ‘green’ environment; the second photo session brought them back to the Spanish capital the next day, on the parking lot of a shopping mall. They saw the complete work and were briefed on all actions to create the photos of the new catalogue to be distributed in 37 countries next year.
Annick Groberty, one of the five winners said: “This was a very positive experience for us, both from a professional and a social point of view. It was very interesting to be part of a commercial shoot because that is what we study: being at the heart of it is certainly the best way to learn. It was an incredible opportunity that is not accessible to just anyone and that might open opportunities for us in the future.”
The prizes for the Young? Creative? Chevrolet! award winners are designed to offer the students an exciting trip on the one hand and also give them the opportunity to gain a practical experience and meet professionals of their field. Photographer Oliver Paffrath shared his know-how with the five winners, focused both on learning and building a friendly relation to the professional team.
They also had the opportunity to visit PHOTOESPAÑA 2008 the international festival of photography and visual arts taking place in Madrid.-GM Europe
