The media had reports that SEL Manufacturing Company Limited may set up a textile park with a build up area of nearly 10 lakh square feet and the company may get into branded and retail segment with launch of hygiene product and surgical clothing.
The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the officials of the company.
SEL Manufacturing Company Limited has vide its letter inter-alia stated, "The said project has been approved by the Project Approval Committee (PAC), under Ministry of Textiles, Government of India in its meeting held on 16.05.2008."
"The said textile park would be of a built up area of approximately 10 lakh Sq. feet. Further there is an expansion project of the company for setting up of Technical Textile Manufacturing facility with an overall investment of approximately Rs 611.67 Crores to be located at Distt.
