Police will question for the third time, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert at his home on Friday regarding alleged bribe taking. Police criticized the prime minister's media adviser for accusing the police of allowing selective leaks of their investigation connecting US businessman Morris Talansky with Olmert. Olmert's lawyers are scheduled to cross-examine Talansky on July 17.
Talansky returned to Jerusalem on Wednesday. He will meet Thursday with his attorneys ahead of the cross examination next week.
Meanwhile, detectives from the National Fraud Squad gathered testimony in New York from Sharon Tzur, a former Likud activist who was also a close associate of Olmert. Talansky
testified that Tzur was present when he gave envelopes of cash to Olmert.
Shaul Olmert, the prime minister's son, has also been questioned by the fraud squad investigators in New York. He is reported to have confirmed that he met with Talansky in the U.S. but the two did not discuss financial matters.
