That's right...Comedy Central has ordered up a new incarnation of the show, to be hosted by comedian Dave Attell (Insomniac)
The updated "The Gong Show With Dave Attell" will premiere on the cable network on Thursday, July 17th!
As most of you already know, yours truly had ball casting all the unique and insane acts you'll see on the show. I also make a cameo on the second episode - as a prop for one of the acts! Hopefully you'll find it some what amusing. LOL.
In case you're too young to remember the original...the series, was hosted by funnyman Chuck Barris and featured zany off-beat acts performing for a panel of celebrity judges. Good acts received high scores from the judges. Dismal acts received the gong. This new version is structured the very same way. BTW - that's a picture of me, on the left, gonging the gong on the set! How fabulous is that?
In short, make sure you and all your friends watch this new re-vamped version of the show! That way the network will order a second season and yours truly will (hopefully) get some more work out of it. Wink, wink.
