I think you could be right but the way that Shyamalan directs,writes,and produces is what he loves to do. It's okay that you have your opinion on Shyamalan but what he does is what he does.

its such a shame shyamalan has been given the boon of making the films i imagine they will be such a disappointment, hope im wrong though. spielburg would have been a better choice. there maybe no season four but i hope the producers at some point dream up new adventures for aang, this is one of, if not the most enlightening series ever to be produced for kids and adults alike and how it delivers its message is so good.so for the good of the world hope shyamalan retires, and avatar inspiration continues
I would love another season of Avatar, and I am really looking forward to the movies BECAUSE Shyamalan is doing them. The only reason his movies don't do well is because everyone wants the same thing over and over and over from him. In The Village, people wanted the aliens to be real, in the Lady in the Water, they wanted it to be more scarier (IT WAS A FLIPPING BED TIME STORY FOR GOD'S SAKE.) And in the Village, he finally does what people wanted him to do, and they hated even more. Sheesh, I really hope he does what HE wants for these. And I really hope he doesn't listen to all you two dimensional people with no imagination for anything different than what you've already seen.

i wish that there would be a 4th season because they left a lot of lose ends like zuko's mother, and how the would still isnt in total balance because there are no airbenders besides aang, and because of this the avatar cycle would soon stop because there isnt any way for and airbender to be born as the airbender.
wrong. when aang has kids his kids will be most likely to be airbenders. but it says that he will marry katara so his kids may have air and waterbending skills scinse he his the avatar. does that help you. and for zuko he does find his mother because i heard that the creators are trying to make a story line for it. but lets hope by septembef/ october/ november or december seaason 4 will come out. i heard thats around the time MAYBE the new season will come out.

Well I see that the post date for this article is 7/20/2008. Where do you get your information? The reason I ask, is because if you actually followed the show, or watched any Nickelodeon show and watched the commercials that aired, you would have told us that the Season 3 Finale aired last night after a week of Avatar Marathons and the last few nights leading up to the finale avatar aired the rest of the episodes leading up to the finale. Just thought it worth mentioning.

I really do like avatar: the last air bender. heck i'm 16 and the reason i like it is cause of all the action in it. Lol my favorite character is Toph, shes tough. also why not continue the series with the next line of avatars, like with a new fire, water, earth avatars, cause the line of the fire lords, their seems to be a person bent on controlling the world,and since fire is quite strong and "dangerous" to even use. Suko's great grandpa, i guess his grandpa, his dad, and also his sister, which who is still alive at the end. So why not make a 2nd series the ending of it makes a perfect reason too. Suko's sister is P.O. On loosing her "kingdom" and fight to her brother and will most likely want revenge and re-take the throne.

I was under the impression from the creators that Avatar: The Last Airbender would only last for 3 seasons. Sure, there's more one can expand on and the creators are shuffling out ideas, but none of them are really a continuation of the story of Aang.

One of my cousins works on the show and they've said they might not continue the show just make some movies but he told me about a few show ideas they were just brainstorming another writer also wrote them on the net. Book 4: Air Chapter 1: Memory- Ang and the main cast plus sum second cast members (Tsuki, Mai etc.) go to Ember Island and review on their journey so far thus the name memory. Book 4: Air Chapter 2: A New Journey- A mysterious person with a hood frees Azula from prison but Ang and Zuko find them running and the mysterious person fights them with air bending and escapes with Azula. Book 4 Air Chapter 3: Ang and Zuko decide they need to find the mysterious air bender and get Azula back. Katara and Sokka demand to come along and Zuko sujests they meet up with Toph in Ba Sing Se and take her along. Ang asks him after the others are gone to pack why he didn't ask for Mai to come and Zuko says she fell for someone else and they broke up. The group take Appa and Momo and head for Ba Sing Se. Book 4 Air Chapter 4: Back to Ba Sing Se- The group land in Ba Sing Se, find Toph and she agrees to come with them. Then Iroh (Zuko's uncle) tells them about a mysterious sighting about two flying people that flew over Ba Sing Se and headed West. The group then head West. Book 4 Air Chapter 5: A Hidden Truth- The group stop to rest a small village and Ang has visions of a mysteriosu flying girl which makes Katara worried and jelous. The group find the same fortune teller they incountered with in a previous episode. Ang and Katara talk to her and she tells them that they are not right for eachother. They don't talk to eachother after that and Katara is worried and is comforted by Zuko who tells her he realised that the one he thought he loved wasn't really the one he loved and they share a hug and Katara realises that she has feelings for Zuko. That's the episodes he said they were considering and they haven't decided on not making the fourth series yet no matter what the producer said because their getting a new producer.

I bet they will make a new series based around the same world, but not aang and the crew. it will end up explaining all the loose ends from the previous series, but will surround another plot line. This would make the most sense.

No way zuko and katara should be together it just doesnt seem right. even though that fourtune teller says that aang and katara dont belong together shes wrong just ike last time they met here she was wrong about he volcano right. so what if shes wrong and they decide to break up, but they still like each other they should just stick together. and i dont think zuko and katara should get married becaue theirs a pretty good chance that katara could have a baby airbender because if their isnt a baby airbender, the avatar cycle will be broken. and the avatar will never come back. thats why they should stay together. Yes there is an Avatar live-action trilogy being created by, unfortunately, M. Night Shymalan. The first movie is slated for a 2010 release date and will be basically be some sort of summary for the series. In my honest opinion, this f-ing sucks. I would prefer someone like Chris Nolan or Peter Jackson to direct this movie, at least if they aren't going for an animated theatrical release. And I don't see why they shouldn't create a season four. There is still a lot of unresolved issues, like how the world is going to need repairing after the damage done by the Fire Nation. I don't agree that Zuko's mom is a reason for them to make a new series though. I would like to see the current plot holes closed and some new innovative story lines introduced. And yes, the "brainstormed" ideas kinda sound like bad fan fiction. I think you made that up about your cousin.

Sozin's comet was awesome! but that should be a start! , There could be a 4th or even 5th season resolving something else. think about it if war ends are all things peaceful forever:), NO there will be somebody trying to take over every thing! i hope that is really is a season 4 but the writers said that they were only aking a trilogy so it could be classic like star wars but i heard this theroy that even though everything seems good anng isnt really the last airbender matter a fact zouko goes to look for his mom so now the firenation is really kinda of defenceless but anyways an airbender comes and free azula cause this whole time its been airbenders but they been helping out the firelord but this arent regular airbenders they mastered something called stormbending when you can controll the wheather but luckly iroph helps anng learn how to conduct lighting but the stormbenders know that of course but anways one of the storm benders ran away to help anng learn stormbending but since the watertribe left the northpole they are under attack and azula and the stormbenders defeat them now anng has to master air the stormbending way but now zouko finds his mom but azula and the stormbenders are on they way so azula can clam erself as firelord any questions write

you have to have hope. i think they'll continue the series because the finale had over 5.6 million viewers. thats enough to put avatar on the top 5 shows for the week. hello, the reason nickelodeon is getting so much money is because of avatar! almost every other show on nickelodeon is for puny little kids! and here comes avatar, a nice family show that kids, teens AND adults can enjoy.
now that's money making for nick. avatar is the only reason i watch nickelodeon. if nick were smart they would ask brian and mike to conjure up a 4th season.

As has been pointed out already there's loose ends that need to be tied up, the whole zuko mom thing, etc. And Toph kinda needs to die. Don't get me wrong, she's an awesome character, but if you think back to the episode about the swamp where Aang first had a vision of her, it was after Katara had a vision of her mom (dead) and Sakka had a vision of that moon chick (dead). And the water bending swamp dude mentioned that the swamp made people see people from their past whom they've lost, but that time had no meaning there which is why Aang saw someone he hadn't met yet. Point is Toph is supposed to die. Yes I know, that would be sad, but it's destiny. As for the whole Katara and Zuko getting together, you know what, they don't need to do anymore of that irrelevant, teenage romantic squabbling. None of it matters. They should focus on more important things and leave everyone's coupling as they are, because they're perfect as they are. It's Avatar, not 90210.

Wikipedia is written by anyone, so you really don't know how credible it is. As for blogs, that's purely just fans posting what they think they know or want to happen. I highly doubt there will be a season 4 since it said "The End". However, Avatar: The Last Airbender was a big hit for nickelodeon and so we shall see what the creators decide to do. I know that they are making a movie called "The Last Airbender" directed, written, and produced by Shyamalan. I really do not like him because of...well all of the above. All of his movies turned out horrible, other than The Sixth Sense. Signs, Lady in the Water, The Village.....It was all garbage. And The Happening was about killer bees. What worries me is that "The Last Airbender" would be in the same "magical" category as "Lady in the Water". I have personally watched the whole movie, but it was hard to do. There are seriously no special effects and the movie doesn't take place beyond an apartment building. The camera angles looked like a monkey was on the job, and I'm sure the actors/actresses are good, but the things they were made to do made them look bad.
I really hope that the avatar movie does not turn out like the other movies. However, this is very unlikely because Shyamalan will be directing, writing, and producing the film. This is stupid because it gives him too much independence in making the movie. Nobody can tell him how to make or change it. This will ruin everyones dream that watched the TV series.
