With the carrier grounding up to a third of its fleet, the cities of Baltimore, San Diego, St. Louis and two Florida destinations are to be affected as well.
From September 8, Midwest will no longer be flying to Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers in Florida. The company also announced on Sunday that the San Diego cancellations will take effect on the same date as well.
However, the company has stated that they will maintain services to Los Angeles and Seattle, although passengers will have to pass
through Kansas City just like on the San Francisco route.
Midwest also stated that the cities of Hartford, Louisville, Baltimore, St. Louis and San Antonio are part of the cities to be denied services from its Midwest Connect regional jet service. Daily flights to Orlando, Fla, through Milwaukee will also be phased out after September 8.
At the beginning of 2008, Midwest was serving up to 47 cities within the United States. Due to the latest announcement by Midwest, the Airline is expected to continue serving only 32 cities.
