People.com has published the statement released by Christian bale's laywer.

"Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister," the star's lawyers said in the statement. "Mr. Bale who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police. At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale."

The British media reports that Batman actor Christian Bale is arrested in London hotel based on assault charges that are brought against him by his mother and family. It is sad that another celebrity actor like Christian Bale is arrested but people want to know why? What has happened and what assault has taken place?

According to Belfast Telegraph Christian Bale "is alleged to have lashed out at his mother and sister in his suite at Park Lane's Dorchester Hotel on Sunday.

"Bale was arrested just hours after he attended the first European screening of the new Batman blockbuster, The Dark Knight."

Bale is 34 years old, his mother is 61 and his sister is 40 years old. Both mother and sister reported Bale to the police for assaulting them on Sunday night. Later the police came and arrested the actor.

What can you do to assault your 61 years old mother?

The family is not talking.

Presently Christian Bale is still being held by the police and questioned by his lawyers.

Christian Bale has three older sisters – Erin Bale, a musician; Sharon Bale, a computer professional; and Louise Bale, a theatre actress and director. The Bale family is deeply rooted in show business, especially theater. Bale is a distant relative of British actress Lillie Langtry, while his uncle, Rex Bale, and maternal grandfather were actors as well.

Like his father, David, Bale is known as an activist, and is a supporter of activism and animal welfare groups such as Greenpeace and the World Wildlife Fund. He has been a vegetarian since age six when he read Charlotte's Web and made the connection between animals and meat. The famous feminist activist, Gloria Steinem, became a first-time bride (at age 66) and Bale's stepmother, when she married David on September 3, 2000. The marriage ended with the death of the elder Bale in 2003. Bale currently resides in Los Angeles.
