The media had reports that Sony Ericsson may acquire Spice Mobiles Limited for around Rs. 700 crores.
The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the officials of the company.
Spice Mobiles Limited has vide its letter inter-alia stated, "We wish to clarify that the Company is not aware of any disinvestment decision by any of the stakeholder."
"The Company undertakes to keep the Exchange completely informed of any proposal if intimated/ received by the Company from any of the shareholders for consideration by the Board of Directors of the Company." -- www.nseindia.com
