In anticipation of iPhone 3G introduction several hundreds of Apple fans camped outside the official Apple store as well as the Telstra, Vodafone and Optus stores last night in Sydney and Brisbane.
In fact, Apple is launching the next-generation 3G iPhone today in Australia. The three phone companies have reported hundreds of thousands of pre-sale iPhone 3G enquiries in Australia.
Some fans are going to be disappointed though since there is limited stock of iPhones as Apple is launching its new baby 3G iPhone in 20 countries today. But be happy Aussies, because of the time zone difference we are the first to lay our hands on this iPhone.
At least geeking all night long on the street was worth a thing, reports I AM Pearl Blog http://iampearl.blogspot.com.
Interestingly Gizmodo Australia reports that iPhone 3G is selling twice faster than the original iPhone.
"The one major bit out of AT&T's quarterly earnings call is that the iPhone 3G is selling twice as fast as the original iPhone did last summer--in case the unending squiggles of people trailing out of Apple Stores and AT&T shops didn't tip you off. They didn't actually say how many were sold, but we know that worldwide Apple sold a million of them as of nine days ago, just three days after launch."
