Meet Jessica Hardy, an American breaststroke swimmer and world record holder.
“Jessica denies that she has taken any prohibited substances,” he said. “We’re looking into explanations for the positive [tests].”
Jessica was tested on three different occasions at the Olympic Trails held in Omaha, Nebraska earlier this month. July 1st was the first test, which came back negative. She was tested again on July 4th, which came back positive on both A and B samples. A third test, done on July 6th, came back negative. The allegations against Hardy could ban her from the sport for two years. Of course, her spot on the Olympic team is in jeopardy as well, but if there is a “favorable ruling” in arbitration, she has a chance of staying on the team.

As a biography, Jessica Hardy was born on March 12, 1987 in Long Beach, California. She is 21 years old.
Jessica attended Wilson High School in Long Beach, California, where she was on the water polo and swim team. At 16 she quit the water polo team and focused on swimming, as she could make the trek to Irvine, California and train with Dave Salo of the Novaquatics Swim Club.
Upon graduation, she went on to the University of California, Berkeley, and swam there for two years. While there, she was an NCAA Champion four times. She turned pro in 2007, and went back to train with Dave Salo.
She holds the world record in the 50 m breaststroke with a time of 29.58, after having won the 2008 FINA Short Course World Championship on April 12, 2008.
At the Olympic Trails earlier this month, she qualified for the 100m breaststroke and the 50 m freestyle.
