Bangor Hydro: Maine Power Outages Due To Thunderstorms

Thousands of people in central Maine don't have power and the main electricity provider Bangor Hydro says it's due to thunderstorms.

Bangor Hydro says the power in the central Maine area has affected and estimated 1,291 Meters. Here are they by counties.

Hancock - 81
Penobscot - 61
Lincoln/Piscataquis - 505
Washington - 644

Bangor Hydro crews have restored service to most of its service area following a system-wide outage. Some scattered outages still exist. Restoration is being being conducted by Bangor Hydro crews. The outages are believed to be caused by lightning damage to systems powering the service area. An investigation into the exact cause will be conducted following comprehensive restoration efforts. All available crews are working to restore service to our customers as quickly and safely as possible.

Estimated Time of Service Restoration: Bangor Hydro estimates that the bulk of its customers will be restored by noon today.
