The Pakistan Prime Minister "has strongly condemned the acts of terrorist violence in the Indian cities of Ahmedabad and Bangalore and expressed deep sympathies with the bereaved families and the victims of these dastardly acts of senseless violence against innocent persons," a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry in Islamabad said.
Gilani on Saturday left Islamabad for Washington on a maiden three-day visit to the US during which the fight against terrorism is expected to top the agenda of his talks with American leadership, who have been asking Pakistan to do more to crack down on al-Qaeda and Taliban militants in the country's restive tribal belt bordering Afghanistan.
The Pakistani statement condemning the terrorist attacks in India came shortly after Ahmedabad was rocked by a series of 16 bomb blasts on Saturday night that left 45 people dead.
A day earlier bombings in Bangalore had killed two people and injured 12.
