The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 shed 2,51% to reach 2412,62 points (2474,80 points as of July 11th, 2008). Last week all the key sectors represented on the Russian stock market showed a negative trend. The Industrial sector reported the largest drop: the RTS Index - Industrial shrank by 3,43%, followed by the Retail & Consumer sector: the corresponding Sectoral Index went down by 2,73%. The slightest decline was registered in the Financials, the corresponding RTS Sectoral Index dropped 0,56% only.
The total trading volume on RTS for the week July 14th – 18th, 2008 equaled 6,4 bln dollars (149,4 bln roubles*), including all types of trades.
The week's top sellers were ОАО "LUKOIL" ordinary shares (LKOH) – $65,467 mln., Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) – $45,419 mln. and Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) – $40,389 mln. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 26,15%, 18,14% and 16,13% accordingly.
The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of the Moscow Integrated Electricity Distribution Company (MSRS) – by 10,92% to $0,0965, ordinary shares of JSC VTB Bank (VTBR) – by 7,14% to $0,00375 and ordinary shares of "VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation" (VSMO) – by 6,57% to $146,00.
The week's top losers were URSA Bank privileged shares (URSAP), that fell in price by 17,39% to reach $0,95, ordinary shares of RAZGULAY Group OJSC (GRAZ) that closed 15,63% down at $6,75 per share and ordinary hares of OJSC "Cherkizovo Group" (GCHE) that posted 13,64% loss at $19,00. -- www.rts.ru
