The iPhone 3G is 2.5 to 3 times faster with loading web pages and doing other stuff while on 3G as compared to Edge. But Apple did make major improvements in other areas. Specifically when it comes to the actual sound of the iPhone 3G.
iPhone 3G sound is much louder when it comes to actually hearing that you are getting a call. With my first gen iPhone, too many times I missed a call because I couldn’t hear it in my pocket. That isn’t the case anymore.
Also, I think the size, shape, weight, and feel of the iPhone 3G is superior to the first gen. Some may say that the plastic backing makes it feel ‘cheaper’ but overall I think it’s an improvement.
What is your take on it? Do you like the look and feel of the iPhone 3G more or do you like how the first iPhone is built? When it comes to the sound, you can’t argue that the first iPhone is better.
