In a very sad story today from Oklahoma we learn that puppy kills 2 month old boy left in swing. What a family tragedy. Our hearts go out to this child.
This is the third child under the age of three that has been killed in less than a week, with three different breeds of dogs involved in the attacks. In this case, the two-month old boy was fatally attacked by one of the family's two dogs -- either a young black Labrador Retriever or a small Pug. The family members were at home at the time of the attack, but no one was in the room at the time of the attack. The child was left unattended in a swing.
People, dogs are great pets. They make wonderful companions. And are usually great with kids. It's very important that we work to socialize the dogs with all the members of the family, especially new young members, to be sure that it is a good relationship for everyone.
I'll report more as more information becomes available. My heart goes out to this family on this awful tragedy that will likely cost them more than one member of their family.

#1 This is very sad, who do you
This is very sad, who do you blame here? Hard to say without knowing the details. But parents should not risk their children like this.
#2 So Sorry For Your Lost!
Hi I would like to send my condolences to the mother and father. This story really touched my heart. I do not feel that anyone is to blame for this accident. Many things happen that are beyond our control. Your family is in my prayers and they will continually be in my prayers.

it just goes to show that in the end, that dogs are just animals, and can be unpredictable (much like some people i know)...so who is responsible for the infant's death? it must lie somewhere. the easy answer -- the dog -- so let's just kill it.

#4 Puppy kills 2 month old
Excuse me? Your heart goes out to the family? Where the heck was the family while this baby was left alone in a swing long enough for the dog to kill it? I think the parents need to be prosecuted. They are not the victims, the baby is!
#5 Your an ass. The
Your an ass. The expectation the a child never leaves the site of a parent.....obvious you are not a parent .....My advice to you is to grow up and learn a little about life. In the end this is what you are saying:
If you are home watching your child(ern):
1.you must take them to the bathroom with you
2. You must sit them in the kitchen in front of you while you fix a meal
3. You must carry them up and down the steps with the laundry basket
4. Dont turn around or leave the room to answer the phone
You have no clue about life. I will agree there are things that can be done to prevent accidents......sometimes the best laid plans dont work for what ever reason.
I am extremely judgmental of you as you are a being judgmental of them.....the difference you placing blame and judge with 0 again I say 0 information
From someone that has a clue
#6 baby safety
Baby is the victim and soon the blame game begin. Why do you leave your infant with a dog???
It just does not fit in my brain.
#7 Who's To Blame
First of all my heart and prayers go out to the family. Yes, this was a horrible tragedy. No matter what comes of this story an angel is back with his father and hopefully the puppy is with another owner. No one has the right to kill an animal or human. So who's to blame "God, he wanted his angel home so he took him back" God has a reason and a plan for everything and everybody. So please no body judge this young couple they are just babies themselves. God bless them and their family they are going to need all the prayers they can get.
#8 Who's to Blame
God does not want this child back, and he does not plan on killing innocents. These parents are to blame, you never leave a young child alone with a dog, it's just common sense. They should kill the parents not the puppy.
#9 Poor Puppy
Mrs Green wrote : "...and hopefully the puppy is with another owner."
Sorry, no dice. The puppy (a Labrador) and another dog from the home (a Pug) were both executed by the local pound.
And I use that term deliberately. Was the death of this child a tragedy? Of course it was. I'm not debating that. It's a tragic turn of events, and I can't even begin to imagine what the family is going through right now.
But why kill the puppy? It was also a child. Unsure of the world, unsure of itself. As far as the puppy was concerned, it was playing. Not malicious. Not evil. Just a child doing something that it didn't know was wrong.
And it was executed for it.
Things like this make me wonder how truly humane the human race is. Not very, or so it seems nowadays.
#10 I do feel bad for the
I do feel bad for the parents, and I also feel bad that not only did they lose a child but a beloved pet. however it is proven that once an animal has tasted blood it will again.. i'm just sorry for both of the losses.
#11 puppy
It the parents are dumb enough to leave there kid to be killed by the dog, maybe its good they're not going to reproduce.
#12 puppy.....infant
i cannt beleive the mother & grandmother did NOT hear the baby's cries. this sounds fishy as heck to me. i have a 6 week old baby and i hear her each & every time she cries and i go straight to her if i am in another room. also i do not see how a 6 week old puppy mauls a baby to death either.....a labador at that!
#13 puppy
The parents are to blame. the child is to young to be left out doors unattended. The police are fools, no lab would intentionally kill a person. a baby that young, the dog was probably trying to play with it and accidently killed it. My lab is a big lovable guy that I would not leave a lone with a child that young because he would accidently hurt or kill it due to his weight when wanting to play. and the pug doubtfully did anything either. THE PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE and the only ones to fell sorry for is the child and the dogs (who the pigs, oh, police always blame).
#14 ok what happened???
