Deutsche Bank Launches New db x-trackers ETFs

Deutsche Bank has listed two new db x-trackers ETFs on the CAC 40 and the CAC 40 Short indices on Euronext Paris. These are the first CAC 40 based ETFs to be launched by an ETF provider from outside France demonstrating Deutsche Bank’s commitment to establishing its db x-trackers ETFs on NYSE Euronext.

The two new db x-trackers ETFs allow investors the opportunity to gain long or short exposure to the French stock market benchmark in a convenient and cost efficient manner. The db x-trackers CAC 40 ETF has an all-in fee of 0.20% per annum and db x-trackers’ CAC 40 Short ETF has an all-in fee of 0.40% per annum.

The db x-trackers CAC 40 Short ETF is an attractive investment tool for investors looking to take advantage of any down turns in the French stock market. It is the fourteenth ETF in the db x-trackers ETF range to be linked to a short index. These products have proven to be very popular with both retail and institutional investors across Europe.

Manooj Mistry, head of db x-trackers equity ETF structuring, commenting on the launch of the db x-trackers CAC 40 Short ETF, says: “With the current market turbulence investors will now able to take a short position against the CAC 40, enabling them to take advantage of any down turns in the French stock market. In the past only professional investors have had the tools to be able to go short, but our new CAC 40 Short ETF is also available to retail investors, offering them the opportunity to short the CAC 40 for low cost and at any size of investment.”

Pedro Fernandes, Head of ETFs for the European markets of NYSE Euronext, says: “We welcome these two new db x-tracker ETFs, which will give further exposure to the French benchmark index the CAC 40 to international markets. With this listing, we now have more than 330 listed ETFs and more than 220 underlyings on Next Track, Euronext’s dedicated ETF segment, confirming Next Track’s position as a leader in ETF listings.”

Lisa Dallmer, NYSE Euronext Head of Global Index Group, says: “Since its launch 20 years ago, the CAC 40 index has rapidly won an international position as an excellent indicator for Europe. Today, it is the second most widely used index for management of ‘passive’ funds, just behind the S&P 500. With these new ETFs, we now have five such ETFs from five issuers, including one from the US”.

There are now 23 db x-trackers ETFs listed on Euronext Paris covering developed as well as emerging markets, short indices, dividend strategies and money market indices. The relevant codes and fees for the new ETFs are shown below.
