Asolo Repertory Theatre and Community Haven for Adults and Children with Disabilities (CHAC) are honored to announce that the Kaleidoscope musical theatre workshop will be changing lives once again this summer. Kaleidoscope is an innovative partnership between CHAC and Asolo Repertory Theatre.
The vision for the show is anchored by the idea that dreaming is the first step towards change. If you dream it, you can start to see it. This summer, the amazing Kaleidoscope actors will look into their hearts and open themselves up to the possibility of being changed by believing that their dreams are beautiful, important, and worth sharing. Please come out and join them as they invite you to do the same.
Performances are scheduled for Friday, August 8 and Saturday, August 9 at 7:00 p.m. in Asolo Rep's Mertz Theatre at 5555 N. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota.
The production will feature the directing talents of Jessi Blue Gormezano, who starred on Asolo Rep's 2007-08 mainstage season. In addition to Gormezano, the Kaleidoscope 2008 team includes: CHAC's President/CEO Peggy Connell; CHAC Development Director, Marla Doss ; Asolo Rep Education Director, Brian Hersh ; Dance/Movement Instructor/Choreographer, Leymis Bolanos Wilmott - Artistic Director of Fuzion Dance Artists; Vocal Instructor/Musical Director, Liz DeVette; Visual Art Instructor/Kaleidoscope Clinician, Anny Barker-Schefler; Asolo Education Associate, Leah Page; Education Intern, Karen Weberman; Volunteer Coordinator, Natalie Gundrum; and Kaleidoscope Clinician, Rachael Cammarano.
This year's Kaleidoscope program continues to create an opportunity for groundbreaking theatrical work as Kaleidoscope staff members help the participants grow as performers and individuals. Clinical goals, set for each participant, are achieved through creative exploration, which strengthens a variety of communications skills and ultimately enriches their everyday lives. -- www.asolo.org
