"Is there a world you long to see?", a lyric from Les Miserables' famous march Do You Hear the People Sing, serves as the theme for the 2008-2009 Fulton Theatre Season. This year the Fulton opens the season with the seminal work that set the standard for the modern musical and closes with the most ambitious production in Fulton history! In between, are more laughs, thrills, chills and heart-swelling moments than ever before.

Fulton Theatre's 2008-2009 Season marks the 10th Anniversary of Fulton Artistic Director Michael D. Mitchell.

"When my first season opened in the fall of 1999 with A Man for All Seasons," says Mitchell, "I was thrilled... excited... exhilarated...and more than a little bit nervous. And when the curtain rises on the 2008-2009 Season, I already know that I'll be thrilled... excited... well, you get the idea. Some things never change. Thank goodness!"

The productions in the Fulton Theatre 2008-2009 Season are:

Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma!
Music by Richard Rodgers; Book & Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein; Based on the play "Green Grow the Lilacs" by Lynn Riggs; Original Dances by Agnes de Mille; Directed by Michael D. Mitchell; Choreographed by Tyce Diorio; September 4 - 28, 2008

Rugged ranchers in Wranglers fighting over gorgeous gals in gingham. A tricked out surrey with fringe on top. And a feisty filly that keeps playin' hard t' git. What's a lovelorn cowboy to do? Sing, of course! Filled with show-stopping musical numbers, including such all-time favorites as Oh, What a Beautiful Morning, People Will Say We're in Love, Kansas City and the rousing title tune, musicals just don't get any bigger than this Rodgers and Hammerstein classic that changed the course of American theatre. Audiences will want to be at the Fulton as an easterly wind whistles down the plain and blows Oklahoma! onto the stage to kick off the 2008-2009 season.

This production marks the first time Michael D. Mitchell will have ever directed the musical about his home state of Oklahoma. It also mark the Fulton debut of Choreographer Tyce Diorio, choreographer and judge from the Fox hit series So You Think You Can Dance. -- www.thefulton.org
