Entries may be submitted any time from January 2009. Closing date is Monday 1 June 2009.
Category A, All sectors (pre–5, Primary, Secondary, ASL)
Entries should be a drawing or painting in any medium of an object from Glasgow Museums' collections.
You may choose anything except the paintings. Your artwork should be completed within three hours.
Please put your details (see below) on the back of your work, and hand your entry in at the enquiries desk at the relevant museum.
Please note: you may only use pencil at the Burrell Collection and at St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art.
Category B, Secondary schools only
From an initial drawing of an object in Glasgow Museums' collections, done at the museum/gallery, you will then develop a design idea back at school.
The judges will look at evidence of the design process as well as the finished work. Entries may be individual or group.
Category C, All sectors (pre-5, Primary, Secondary, ASL)
An opportunity to develop an expressive response to any object, including paintings, in Glasgow Museums' collections.
It can be in any medium, 2D or 3D, but flat work should be no bigger than A1 size. Entries may be individual or group.
Judging
Entries for all categories will be judged in age groups by a panel of art professionals. Gold, silver and bronze medals and special awards will be presented at a ceremony in September 2009.
