Many of us stock on juices we buy from nearby grocery stores understanding that these juices are good for us. In actuality, drinking juice can prevent the effect of medicine, scientist said.
Professor David Bailey from University of Western Ontario, suggests that when ingesting medication water is the best. Study shows that these juice can reduce the effectiveness of medication, or even stop the effect of it altogether.
Medication that are shown to have reduced effect are atenolol, celiprolol, talinolol and fexofenadine. Some other more common anti-biotics used to care for food poisoning and infections are also effected.
According to Professor Bailey, only the consumption of these juice four hours prior to the medical intake have an effect. Hypothetically speaking, it is possible to consume juice and medication on a daily basis and not having to take the consequence, however it is not recommended.
