On January 20 and 21, come to the Canadian Children's Museum, located inside the Canadian Museum of Civilization, to learn about the kimono - a traditional robe worn in Japan on special occasions such as the New Year.
Design and decorate your very own kimono and learn about the various kimono styles and how they have changed over the years.
Once your kimono is ready, slip it on and head to the Japanese House and meet a special guest for stories about Japanese traditions.
Kimonos on Saturday, January 20 and Sunday, January 21, 2007, 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m. (bilingual) at Studio, Canadian Children's Museum. Free with Museum admission. -- www.civilization.ca
